A day in the life at Harari Class

08:30–09:00

Arrival

Students arrive, unpack, and begin the day with independent tasks. Some read, others finish assignments, and many use this time to review and organise themselves — modelling maturity and focus.

09:00–09:30

Breakfast

A healthy breakfast shared with classmates provides both fuel and connection. By this stage, students take full ownership of serving, tidying, and supporting younger peers.

09:30-10:20

English

English lessons focus on advanced literacy. Students read and analyse longer texts, practise essay writing, and refine grammar and vocabulary. Class discussions encourage critical thinking, debate, and confident expression.

10:20-10:30

Transition Time

A short pause to reset before maths.

10:30–11:20

Mathematics

Maths stretches into higher concepts: algebra, geometry, percentages, and problem-solving with multiple steps. Students explain their reasoning, apply strategies to real-life problems, and prepare for the demands of secondary-level maths.

11:20-11:30

Transition Time

Time to refresh and prepare for science.

11:30–12:20

Science

Science lessons are inquiry-driven and more formal. Students design experiments, test hypotheses, and record findings in structured lab reports. Topics such as energy, ecosystems, and chemical reactions push them to apply scientific thinking rigorously.

12:20-13:05

Lunch

A balanced meal shared in community. Students are expected to show maturity, independence, and responsibility during mealtime routines.

13:05-13:55

Thai

Thai lessons now move into deeper vocabulary, sentence construction, and cultural appreciation. Students practise speaking and writing, and explore how language connects with culture and identity.

13:55-14:05

Transition Time

A short reset before Social Studies.

14:05-14:55

Social Studies

Social Studies challenges Harari students to think globally and critically. They study history, geography, and civics, often through research projects, debates, and presentations. Lessons encourage leadership, empathy, and awareness of the wider world.

14:55-15:05

Transition Time

Time to pause before the final block.

15:05-15:55

Study Methods & Skills

This block equips students with tools for the next stage of education. Note-taking, time management, exam strategies, and research skills prepare them for the demands of secondary school. It’s about learning how to learn — independently and effectively.

15:55-16:00

Closing

The day concludes with reflection, organisation, and preparation. Homework is reviewed with a focus on planning, deadlines, and accountability. Students leave with clear goals, ready to balance independence with responsibility.
